University of Cambridge Research Assistant Department of Psychiatry

Salary: 21,682-24,403 pa Limit of tenure: 12 months

Applications are invited for a full time Research Assistant post, initially for 12 months to work on a project funded by a grant from the Research for Patient Benefit Programme (National Institute for Health Research). The post will involve reviewing legislation and policy relating to the care and treatment of people with profound and multiple disabilities and collecting histories from medical records and will be based within the Learning Disability Research Group, Department of Psychiatry, University of Cambridge (www.ldrg.org.uk)

Applications are invited from graduates who have, or are expected to obtain, a good honours degree (II.1 or higher) in the social or behavioural sciences. The successful applicant will be a good team worker with well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills. Some experience of working with people with learning or physical disabilities is desirable. While the post is based in Cambridge, travel will be required across Cambridgeshire and Essex, including to places with limited public transport. A full driver's licence and access to a car is desirable. The successful applicant will also be required to apply for enhanced CRB disclosure.
